Don's Preliminary Photos
Don's NASDAQ Experience on August 16, 2006
Don (I) was invited by Wright Medical Group, Inc. (NASDAQ Symbol:  WMGI) to participate in their 5-year anniversary celebration of going public on the NASDAQ exchange.  He met several company executives, selected surgeons, and a several other patients that used Wright implants.  I was selected primarily because I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro using their knee replacement implant in my left knee.  It served me quite well.

It turns out that Jimmy Connors of Tennis Pro fame had a very successful hip replacement and agreed to be a public spokesman for Wright Medical.

The NASDAQ Opening Bell was quite an experience.  There is no actual "trading floor" like the New York Stock Exchange.  It's all virtual (computers).  So, we were in a large and elaborate TV studio with hundreds of monitors showing stocks and various financial and news displays.  It's quite an event that happens twice/day every business day.  Things are scheduled to the second and there is no give in the schedule.

My thanks and appreciation to Wright Medical for providing this all-expense paid (and then some) experience that I'd probably have never done any other way.  It was great meeting some of the people involved with that great company.

We were actually on a live feed with CNBC and others, but the usual group shot was overridden with the fame of Jimmy Connors.

However, we'll possibly be given a DVD that has all the video that was taken during the event.  I'll put excerpts here when that happens.

I included the Toys R Us as it was a highlight - at least for Kevin who got the much requested Mindstorms Robot kit.  Yes, I really did get it for him.
