Don's underwater marriage proposal was captured on video by Bill R. This actually happened five days later than originally planned due to rough seas, a double-booked boat, loss of control of the boat due to other charter passengers' location desires. However, it finally happened.
Note than when I signed, "Will you..." Sue naturally assumed that I wanted her to take my picture since I'd been so determined to get to this statue of Christ in Key Largo's Underwater Park. So, after the third signing attempt, I finally resolved to write it on a slate... at which point she nodded "yes".
The planning for this event rivaled the wedding planning - learning to sign, getting enough friends to go to "control" the boat's agenda, arranging video, "the ring", etc. So, when Sue finally was allowed out of the water from this dive, during which she had to also perform a "search and recovery" skill test (that's another long story), she was engaged and certified as an Advanced Open Water Diver. (I was about out of air. I use twice the air when I dive with Sue than with others. I'm not sure why.)
I severely chopped up Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue for the music, but I like it.
